I began my journey in the world of civil construction at the young age of 19, starting as a labourer. Over the years, I honed my skills and expertise, eventually pursuing higher education at CPIT, where I earned my Diploma in Engineering (Civil) between 2003 and 2006. My passion led me to specialize as a structural steel detailer from 2003 to 2009, where I delved deep into the intricate world of steel structures. In 2009, I made a transition back into civil construction management, a role that allowed me to apply my knowledge in a broader context. This period of my career was marked by managing projects, leading teams, and ensuring that every aspect of the construction process was executed to a high standard. In 2012, a significant turning point occurred in my professional life when I co-founded Lambe Construction in Christchurch. We established the company with a singular purpose: to contribute our expertise to the earthquake rebuild efforts. This endeavor was not just a business venture; it was a mission to help rebuild communities and infrastructures that were affected by the natural disaster. After six years of dedicated service in Christchurch & Kaikoura, in April 2018, my partner Jonelle and I made the strategic decision to move Lambe Construction back to Nelson. This move allowed us to adapt to changing circumstances and explore new opportunities in the construction industry. The journey has been marked by challenges and triumphs, each experience shaping me into the professional I am today. From the hands-on days as a labourer to the intricate work of a structural steel detailer and the strategic decisions of a construction manager, my career has been a testament to my passion for construction and my commitment to making a difference in the communities I serve.
